Upgrading Water Safety at an Office on the South Coast Insurance Sector

Background

At a large corporate office on the South Coast , occupied by a well-known insurance provider and managed through facilities management partners, water hygiene had become a growing concern. The site’s chlorine dioxide system, installed over ten years ago,was nearing the end of its service life, with performance and reliability beginning to decline.

The Challenge

Maintaining Legionella control was a top priority, particularly given the occasional positive sampling results recorded in recent years. The team needed a dependable, compliant alternative that would modernise the infrastructure while reducing health and safety risks linked to chemical handling.

The Solution

In September 2022, the site transitioned to Genox, a secondary disinfection system that generates hypochlorous acid (HOCl) on site using only salt, water, and electricity. This process avoids the need for transporting or storing hazardous chemicals, while delivering continuous and effective bacterial control.

Why Genox stood out:

• Straightforward installation with minimal disruption to operations

• Safer alternative to traditional chlorine dioxide methods

• Gentle yet highly effective against biofilm and bacteria

• Engineered to suit system size, flow, and occupancy needs

Outcome & Impact

  • Smooth and professional installation process
  • Positive feedback from FM partners and occupants
  • Ongoing monitoring confirms improved system stability and hygiene performance
  • Aligned with the organisation’s commitment to a safer, more sustainable workplace
