Flocell XFM Modular Filtration System

Tertiary solids and phosphorous removal

The Flocell XFM is a sustainable, ultra-low-maintenance filtration solution that uses significantly less power and water than traditional systems. Unlike conventional filters, which often require frequent backwashing, chemical cleaning, and component replacements, the XFM offers long-lasting performance with minimal intervention.

Its scalable, modular design allows for seamless integration at various stages of a process. It is particularly effective in environments with space constraints or where rapid deployment is essential. With a commissioning time of just one hour, the XFM is ideal for time-sensitive or temporary installations.

The XFM system is a high-efficiency replacement for cloth filters, disc filters, sand filters, and microscreens.

Open-cell media

The patented Flocell XFM open-cell media has been designed to efficiently reduce water turbidity and retain particulate without increasing the pressure within the filter or reducing the flow.

The open cell media traps and settles the solids. Once the media reaches maximum capacity, the trapped solids do not get displaced and therefore do not get into the environment.

Flocell XFM Modular Filtration System use air to clean rather than a traditional backwash cycle. Cleaning with air using the low-energy blower package agitates the media pack and removes contained solids during the short cleaning cycle.

Air reduces energy use, it substantially reduces the amount of water that is lost, whilst at the same time producing a highly concentrated and manageable effluent stream that infrequently needs to be removed or returned to the head of works to co-settle with incoming effluent.

Only the single volume of the filter is discharged when cleaning and with prolonged periods of operation possible due to high retention capacity the water and power savings are significant.

The open cell media has been specifically engineered to optimise the mechanical filtration performance of the Flocell filtration system.

Independently tested

Flocell filtration system patented open cell media has been independently tested by the IFTS (Institut de la Filtration et des Technique Séparatives) in France and Cranfield University to offer vastly superior performance in terms of retention capacity, retention efficiency, energy consumption and power use.
