Marlowe Champions Gender Equality on International Women’s Day 2025
As the world unites to celebrate International Women’s Day (IWD) on March 8, 2025, under the theme “Accelerate Action,” Marlowe reaffirms its commitment to advancing gender equality within the workplace and beyond. This year’s IWD theme emphasises the urgency of expediting efforts to eliminate systemic barriers and biases that hinder women’s progress.
At the heart of Marlowe’s initiatives is the Gender Working Group, a dedicated team focused on promoting inclusivity and equal opportunities across the organisation. This group spearheads various programs and policies aimed at fostering a culture where all employees, regardless of gender, can thrive.
Leading the group is Shelly Millard, who heads the Employee Champion Initiative.

“As a Managing Director in the water treatment industry, I owe so much to the incredible women in my life, as well as the strong men who have supported my journey.
One of my biggest inspirations is my mum—now retired and enjoying a well-earned rest (though she still never sits down!). When I was young, she retrained as an accountant to create better opportunities for herself and our family, showing an undeniable work ethic that I believe she passed on to me.
I’m also grateful for the leaders in my organisation who have paved the way and supported my growth. Their guidance and encouragement have empowered me to reach new heights.

As part of the IWD celebrations, Marlowe encourages its employees and partners to engage in activities that support women’s advancement, including fundraising for women-focused charities and participating in community outreach programs.
